Detailed Itinerary for Uganda gorilla trekking tours
Day 1: Leave Entebbe and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – 31st July
Depart in the morning after breakfast and drive south-westwards to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is best known for its Mountain Gorillas, primate presence and spectacular bird population. En route, you will have a short stop at the Equator for an educational talk as well as a photographic opportunity. The journey then continues to Mbarara where there will be a stopover stop for lunch. After lunch, drive on wards; a drive that will take you through Uganda’s rolling green hills through the highlands, also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’ before making the final journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla. Check in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest National Park – 1st August
Following the morning breakfast, depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins.
Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating.

Day 3: Bwindi National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park – 2nd August
Today you will leave Bwindi National Park for Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are hard to spot (most especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey). Hoping you get the chance to spot them, the sight will be spectacular!
You will arrive at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimps Trek in Kalinzu Forest & boat safari on the Kazinga channel – 3rd August
After early breakfast, depart to Kalinzu Forest for the chimpanzee trekking. Return to the lodge for lunch and then go on the afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park- Entebbe – 4th August
Very early in the morning before dawn, you will wake up to have a cup of coffee or a glass of water/ juice then proceed for an early morning game drive. This game drive will take you through the Kasenyi track and the queens’ mile in the park and will reward you with animals like Lions, elephants, hyenas, Giant forest hogs, Bushbucks, Warthogs, Hyenas, civets, aardvarks, Leopards, and many more. After the game drive, you will drive back to your accommodation for late breakfast and then later on drive to Entebbe to reach in the evening.
En route, we will stop at the Equator for photographs and ‘polar-water experiment’, then local community crafts shops and fruit markets. We will be in Entebbe in the evening before for your flight back home.
