Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones.
Follow the mountain gorillas in the impenetrable forest, and discover their natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before sloping down back to your lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking from a New Perspective & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – 21st December
After an early breakfast we head to the ranger station, where we will be assigned our tracking group. The lead ranger will give you a briefing about the family you will be visiting this day before we head out to make our encounter.
This second day of tracking provides you with a special opportunity to visit gorillas again. Often during the first experience participants are nervous about being around these large (but gentile) animals. Focused on trying to get a great picture to share on Facebook, the experience goes by far to quickly. The second tracking is often much more memorable as it is easier to put down the camera and simply enjoy.
Again, after tracking through the forest we will eventually encounter the family where we will have up to one hour in close contact. You now have the special opportunity to observe the animals, without the stress or pressure that you may have felt the previous day. After our time is up, we will then make our way back to the ranger station.
Later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
